Rosemary originates from the Mediterranean region and its scientific name is Rosmarinus Officinalis. Most rosemary produced today comes from Spain, Morocco and France.
This plant is one of the oldest herbs used in both food and medicine, and dates back to the Egyptian era when its healing properties made it a highly valued essential oil. It is also believed that it was used in Roman and Greek diets as far back as 500BC.
